

About Ritchie
Ritch, a resident of Waterloo with a background in electrical work, faced economic challenges in the 1980s, leading him to work on various projects in different states. Returning to the Cedar Valley in 1991, he became a key figure in IBEW Local Union 288, serving as Business Manager and then as Market Development coordinator. Committed to community service, Ritch is involved in local organizations and events, demonstrating a passion for volunteering.
With a wealth of experience, including leadership roles and recognition for his efforts, Ritch aims to leverage his expertise by running for Black Hawk County Supervisor. Known for his problem-solving approach and commitment to being part of the solution, Ritch emphasizes his practical and hands-on perspective, shaped by his 45 years as an IBEW member and 28 years as a labor leader.

The Newly formed Black Hawk County Supervisor District 4
Under Senate File 75 (passed in 2025), Black Hawk County is required to elect county supervisors by District, instead of the At Large system used in past elections.
The district map was prepared by the Legislative Service Agency.
All five new supervisor districts will be on the 2026 primary and general election ballots.
Ritch Kurtenbach is seeking to serve the Black Hawk County District 4.
This will be serving a 4-year term.
The Primary Election will be held Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, and on to the General Election November 3rd, 2026.
